KARACHI: After attack on two traffic policemen once again in the metropolis, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, Ghulam Hyder Jamali called a meeting with traffic authorities to discuss the matter on Tuesday.

As per the official sources, IGP Ghulam Hyder took notice of recent murder attempt on Sub Inspector Umar Hayyat and Assistant Sub Inspector Juma khan who were shot and wounded by two unidentified criminals riding motorcycle on MT Khan Road on Monday evening.

The sources also revealed that after the killing of five constables in a week this year, two unarmed traffic cops were deployed again on the vulnerable spot to perform duty for VVIP movement. The spot was one of unsafe spots for traffic constables which was earlier identified by traffic authorities and these points were already withdrawn by traffic cops on the special directives of DIG Traffic.

Jamali has already suspended the DSP and SO on their negligence. It may be noted that IG had sent 351 commandoes and enough ammunitions for the training and security of traffic cops on the special request of traffic authorities a few days back.
