Ulema asked to help police

KARACHI: An eight-member delegation of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) led by Qari Usman on Thursday met Acting Inspector General of Police Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali at Central Police Office (CPO) Karachi.

Jamali said that Ulema and citizens had important responsibilities to restore law and order situation in the city. Ulema should cooperate with police for promoting inter-faith harmony among all schools of thought.

Jamali instructed police to ensure establishment of Police Bench consisting of Ulema belonging to all sect and ordered formation of committees at district level.

In the meeting, he sought the report of seatrain cases of the year and instructed police to expedite probe into the murders cases.
