Umair Siddiqui sent to jail on judicial remand

KARACHI: An Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday sent an accused Umair Siddiqui, alleged worker Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) to jail on judicial remand in two different murder cases

Siddiqui is accused of killing rangers lance Naik Shokat within the jurisdiction of Mobeena town and at the same time there is another murder case registered against him. In second case he is accused of killing a man named Hussain Gabool over political enmity.

Earlier Siddiqui was identified by an eye witness in rangers man murder case. An eye witness rightly picked up Siddiqui as a killer of ranger’s personnel who was killed in 2010.

According to rangers’ press release issued in March, the suspect, Umair Siddiqui formed a team of target-killers on the directions of MQM’s Tanzeemi committee member Hammad Siddiqui. It said Umair’s team of target killers murdered as many as 120 people. The suspect was also involved in rigging during the general elections of 2013. 60 to 70 MQM workers had cast fake votes for their party candidate on PS-126.
