UN, OIC asked to use influence in Gaza cease-fire

KARACHI: The Ulema of different sects demanded of the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) to play their due roles in cease-fire in Gaza. They made this demand during a meeting with the delegation of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Chapter comprising its Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, General Secretary Abdul Wahab, Barjees Ahmed, Secretary Information Zahid Askari, Ameer JI District West Muhammad Ishaq, Hameedullah Khan Advocate, Laeeq Khan and Maulana Abdul Waheed.

The JI delegation invited the Ulema in “Gaza Million March”, organized by JI Karachi Chapter on August, 17.

The Ulema including Maulana Asfandyar Khan, head of Jamia Dar-ul-Khair, Dr Luqman Yar Khan, Mufti Naeem, head of Jamia Binoria SITE and Maulana Muhammad, head of Jamia-ul-Rasheed assured their participation in the Gaza Million March.

Speaking at the occasion, Maulana Asfandyar Khan said that the JI conducted ‘Jihad’ in form of organizing “Gaza Million March” for the people of Palestine, as the entire Gaza is being set ablaze by the bombing of Israel.

Mufti Naeem termed the decision of JI for holding “Gaza Million March”, an appropriate one, and said that the struggle of JI will produce positive result in future.

“If an effective voice against the atrocities of Israel against the Palestinians could not be raised, then the Israel may attack on Pakistan”, he opined.

Maulana Muhammad lauded the efforts of JI for holding such a meaningful march against the barbarism of Israel.

On the occasion, the Ulema appealed the people to participate in “Gaza Million March in large numbers to express solidarity with the people of Gaza.

Speaking at the occasion, Hafiz Naeem said that the precious human lives have been lost by the volatile bombing of Israel on Gaza, adding that the United Nations and OIC should use their influence for stopping the barbarism of Israel.

He appealed the people to participate in Gaza Million March in large numbers for extending their support to the people of Gaza.
