KARACHI: Tehreek-e-Nifaz-e-Urdu Pakistan (TNUP) has demanded from the government that Urdu should be given the status of official language of Pakistan as per Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s vision and the constitution of Pakistan, besides implementing a universal system of education in Urdu language all over the country.

It was demanded by the speakers of TNUP at Quaid’s mausoleum on Independence Day. Dr Syed Mubeen, Akhter, Hakeem Saeed, Mujahid Mehmood Barkati, Syed Naseem Ahmed Shah, Syed Saeed-ul-Hassan and former MNA Laiq Khan addressed on the occasion.

The speakers said that all the nations of the world had got progress through promoting their national languages. However, we are still deprived of an education system that is in our own language.

“We are looking for our dream of making the Urdu language an official language of our country to become true,” they said.
