Visible economic progress witnessed during one year: Pervaiz Rashid

Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid has said that visible economic progress was witnessed during the one year of the present Government. He was addressing a news conference on Sunday.

The Minister said when we took over, the dollar was of one hundred and twelve rupees.  As a result of the steps taken by the Government and its economic team, dollar value was brought down to ninety-eight rupees.

He said foreign exchange reserves position was improved considerably.  He said there was considerable economic progress in the country before 14th of August.  He urged Imran Khan to improve its performance in KPK.

He said that terrorism and energy crisis badly affected the economy of the country.  He said they will combat all kinds of terrorism and determination. He said the PML(N) Government faced many challenges in the past and will do the same now.

He said Tahirul Qadri and Imran Khan created hurdles in the visit of Chinese President to Pakistan. Answering a question, he categorically stated that the Government will fully defend and safeguard the country and the people against any aggression.

He said the Government will not allow any harm on the respect of the motherland. He said Indian aggression will also be encountered at international level.
