Karachi: Aafia family has said they do not believe in any sort of revenge and all they want is early release and repatriation of Dr Siddiqui.
Aafia Movement spokesman, in a statement here said a former security official in a TV talk show had claimed that Aafia Siddiqui had never remained in their custody. He reminded that a statement of SSP Imran Shaukat, the former incharge of counter-terrorism cell Sindh and head of Elite Force is on the record in which he had confessed that in 2003 he had whisked away Aafia ¦ and handed her to an agency.
He said this statement of SSP Imran Shaukat has already been published in the report of International Justice Network, USA that Dr Aafia along with her innocent children was kidnapped in 2003 and subjected to torture.
The spokesman said the family of Dr Aafia Siddiqui does not want revenge from any institutions, but just appeals to all the institutions of Pakistan to lend them assistance in the early release of Aafia.
He said the people of Pakistan also ask why we have still not succeeded in securing the release of the daughter of the nation. He said in a mockery to justice, Dr Aafia is sentenced for 86 years. He said with the repatriation of Aafia not only her family but also millions of Muslims who are saddened on her plights would be solaced.
He appealed to the nation to pray for the early release of innocent Aafia and also for the leaders of this nation.
