Woman among three killed, 8 injured in KarachiSeptember 2, 2014
KARACHI: Three people, including a woman, were killed and eight others injured in different incidents in the city on Wednesday.
The body of a woman bearing torture marks was found from Clifton Block 1. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities. The identity of the victim could not be ascertained yet.
According to police, a suspect, Shokat alias Shoki, member of Gang war aged, 30, was killed in a police encounter at Gulshan-e-Maymar Morr within the limits of Industrial area Gulshan-e-Maymar in the wee hours of Wednesday. The body was JPMC for an autopsy.
Police claimed that one pistol with 25 bullets were also recovered from the possession of the deceased. They said that his three accomplices managed to escape in darkness.
Mobina Town police said four unidentified bandits reached at Main Mosamiyat Chowrangi, tried to loot a vehicle of PCSIR Laboratory carrying cash. During resistance a cashier Asghar sustained injury. In retaliatory fire by security guard an unknown criminal was killed. Three accomplices managed to escape without looting cash, police said.
Separately, four police personnel were injured when unidentified armed men hurled hand grenade at a police check post under Nursery Bridge along Shahrah-e-Faisal. They were identified as Police constable Saleem, 42, son of Qasim, PC Mahiwal, 43, son of Nazar Muhammad, PC Maqsood, 40, son of Orangzeb, and Nasir, 35, son of Farooq. All injured were rushed to JPMC for treatment.
Yet in another firing incident, two real brothers were injured near National Bank Malir 15 area. According to rescue sources, Khalid, 40, and Talha, 26, sons of Muhammad Saqib, were injured when unknown armed men opened fire on them. They were brought to JPMC for treatment.
Meanwhile, Akbar Aziz, 51, son of Azizullah, was shot and injured when unknown armed fired bullets at him near Sachal Goth. He was shifted to JPMC for treatment.
