Woman,kids freed from human traffickers in Landikotal

Peshawar: A woman along with her two kids were freed from the custody of human traffickers here on Pak-Afghan border Torkham, official and local sources said on Wednesday.

The Torkham administration sources said,a young woman with two children hailing from Aza Khel,Peshawar accompanied by two other aged women,who were residents of Badaber,the rural areas of Peshawar were en route to Afghanistan via Torkham,when at the border, the young woman shouted for help and asked the on-duty Khasadar personnel to save her from abductors who were allegedly taking her to Afghanistan to sell there.

The accused women were of the view that the complainant was mentally disturbed and was taking her to Afghanistan to a shrine for prayer.The Khasadar persons arrested all the three women and children and sent them to Landikotal lock up for further investigation,sources said.

It is to be mentioned here that cases with similar nature have increased many times in the recent past on Torkham border and scores of abducting of women bids have been foiled by the border security forces.
