Workshop on latest trends in university governance held

KHAIRPUR: 5th Indigenous On-campus Training (IOT) Workshop on “Latest Trends in University Governance” was organized by Professional Development Centre (PDC) Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur in collaboration with Higher Education Commission started at SALU on Monday.

Prof Dr Yasmeen Faiz Kazi, Dean, Faculty of Natural Sciences, inaugurated the workshop.

Addressing the workshop, Dr Kazi said that governance means to utilize the resources in smooth direction and that governance means establishment of policies and continuous monitoring of their proper implementation.

She lauded the efforts of HEC for sponsoring such type of workshops to uplift the capacity of non-teaching staff of university. She said that HRM is real asset of any institution. The participants of this workshop would learn the managerial skills and apply in their practical work.

Prof Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah, Focal Person, HRM. and Course Coordinator of the workshop shed light on the objectives of workshop. This was aimed at developing the professional growth of employees. Dr Mallah remarked that economy of any country depends on Human Resource Management.

Prof Dr Nisar Ahmed Kanhar, Director PGS, Prof Dr Taj Mohammad Lashari, Media Coordinator, Barkatullah Qureshi, Director, Planning & Development, Prof Dr Mihoon Khan Laghari, Hidayatullah Shaikh, Resource Persons and Dr Abdul Manan Shaikh also attended the inaugural session.
