Youm-e-Ali: 12000 policemen to be deployed in Karachi

KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Wednesday directed the acting Inspector General of Sindh Police, Additional Inspector General of Police Karachi and all DIGs of Sindh Police to prepare foolproof security plan and ensure full security specially on the observance of Youm-e-Shahadat of Hazrat Ali (AS) on 21st Ramzan-ul-Mubarik in Karachi and other parts of Sindh.

The Chief Minister Sindh directed this while presiding over a meeting with IGP Sindh Ghulam Hyder Jamali and Additional IG Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thedo at CM House at Karachi. The Principal Secretary to CM Alamdin Bullo was also present in the meeting. The Chief Minister Sindh directed the officers to remain in contact with religious leaders and remove all bottlenecks, hindrance if any and make all the routes of mourning processions safe and secure in all sense.

The Chief Minister was informed in the meeting that in addition to Rangers, 12000 police personnel would be deployed to provide foolproof security to the mourning processions at Karachi while special arrangements have been made at other parts of province.

Besides Pak Army would also be available as standby in Karachi. The Chief Minister Sindh also discussed the law and order situation of Sindh, particularly with reference to ongoing targeted operation in Karachi. The Chief Minister directed the officers to expedited targeted operation and evolve strategy for strengthening Sindh police on permanent basis. The Chief Minister Sindh took briefing from the officers about the achievements of the targeted operations and performances of the officers engaged in this task. Shah also directed the officers for maintaining impartiality and asked that a targeted operation against the criminals should be carried out without any discrimination.
