Young doctors protest against non-payment of salaries

KARACHI: Young Doctors Association, National Institute of Child Health (NICH), on Thursday staged a protest demonstration outside the Karachi Press Club against non-payment of their three-month salaries.

The young doctors of NICH have been deprived of their salaries from three months as the administration has failed to resolve their issue.

The protesters were carrying placards and banners inscribed with different slogans like early release of salaries, justice for young doctors and stop injustice with healthcare providers.

The protesters said that they were serving in different wards of hospital but have been deprived of their salaries since three months. They said young doctors and their families were passing through economic crises and were facing great hardships over non-payment of their three month salaries for unknown reasons.

They said several requests were sent to NICH administration but no any positive response came so far. They said the administration was not coordinating with young doctors despite many requests. They said the hospital administration and high-ups of health department were not taking this matter seriously.
