11 more dengue fever cases reported in city

Karachi: Eleven more dengue viral fever cases were reported in Karachi on Thursday, increasing the patients’ toll to 1051 during 2013, said Dr M Shakeel Aamir Mullick Focal Person for Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh.

Shakeel Mullick said that a total of 1112 dengue fever cases have been reported in Sindh province since January 2013, out of them 1051 were detected in Karachi and 61 in rest of the province. He said eleven dengue patients expired in Karachi this year so far.

He said that 33 dengue patients were still admitted to different hospitals of the Sindh, while 30 patients were discharged from hospitals after treatment across the province. He said eleven new cases were reported in Karachi on 12th September and three cases were detected in Hyderabad.

He informed that 48 cases were detected in Hyderabad, two in Kambar, two in Sanghar, two in Shikarpur , two in Thatta , one in Larkana, one in Dadu, one in Khairpur, one in Naushehro Feroz, and one in Kashmore since January 2013.
