15 more dengue fever cases reported in City

Karachi: Fifteen more dengue viral fever cases were reported in Karachi on Wednesday, increasing the patients’ toll to 825 during 2013 so far and five other cases were also detected in Hyderabad, said Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh.

Dr M Shakeel Aamir Mullick Focal Person for Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh said that a total of 861 dengue fever cases have been reported in Sindh province since January 2013, out of them 825 were reported in Karachi alone and 36 in rest of province. He said ten dengue patients expired in Karachi this year so far.

Mullick said that 36 dengue patients were still admitted to different hospitals of the Sindh and 15 new cases were reported in Karachi on 28th of August. He further said five new cases were also detected in Hyderabad.

He informed that 23 cases were detected in Hyderabad, one in Larkana, one in Dadu, two in Kambar, one in Khairpur, two in Sanghar, one in Naushehro Feroz, two in Shikarpur, two in Thatta and one in Kashmore since January 2013.

However, 19 patients were discharged from hospitals after treatment across the province.
