2.5 mln saplings planted against a target of 1.5 mln: Ministry of Climate Change

Ministry of Climate Change’s country wide campaign Plant for Pakistan has broken the record of success when around two point five million saplings were planted against a target of one point five million.

According to a press release of the Ministry, the youth took active participation in the campaign to make the country greener.

Eight hundred and nine thousand eight hundred twenty two (809822) saplings were planted in Sindh, two hundred and seventy eight thousand eight hundred and eleven (278811) in Punjab, one point one three million and nine thousand four hundred (1139400) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, eighty three thousand eight hundred in Gilgit Baltistan (83800), thirty thousand (30000) in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, ninety five thousand (95000) in Balochistan and fifty eight thousand (58000) in Islamabad.

Meanwhile, Advisor to Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam in a video message appreciated all Pakistanis who played an active role in tree plantation to protect their future generations. It is also part of change that Prime Minister Imran Khan promised to bring in first one hundred days of his rule.
