Minister for Climate Change, Sherry Rehman has taken notice of the proposal for Limestone Lease and installation of ten thousand tonnes per day Cement Plant by a company, in the area declared as “Salt Range Nature Reserve Complex” in Tehsil Choa Saidan Shah of district Chakwal.

In a press release, she said blasting and quarrying of raw materials by the proposed cement plant threaten the ecology of this rich biodiversity.

The Minister urged Punjab Environmental Protection Agency to conduct in-depth assessments to ensure the protected areas.

Finance Minister Miftah Ismael says government’s efforts to reduce imports have finally borne fruit and imports in July, have been only five billion dollars as compared to 7.7 billion dollars in June.

In a tweet on Sunday, he said our government is determined to minimize the large current account deficit left by PTI.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took an aerial visit of flood affected areas of Balochistan and viewed damages caused by recent monsoon rains.

The Prime Minister directed the authorities concerned to immediately set up a medical camp and supply medicines in the affected villages.

He asked the authorities for the provision of two more boats immediately to speed up the relief operations and ration in the affected villages.

Shehbaz Sharif also visited Jhal Magsi and interacted with flood-affected people in Shambani.

He directed to accelerate relief activities and provide food and other relief items to affected families.

The Prime Minister also directed to ensure availability of veterinary doctors for animals.

On the directive of Prime Minister, the Chief Secretary Balochistan dispatched teams in affected areas to accelerate relief activities.

Earlier, the Prime Minister also visited Jacobabad where he was briefed about relief activities in flood-affected areas.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has left for Balochistan to visit the flood and rain hit areas of the province.

During the visit, he will review the damage caused by floods and the rescue, relief and rehabilitation measures for the flood victims.

Federal Ministers and senior officials will accompany the Prime Minister.

Earlier, the Prime Minister’s visit was delayed due to inclement weather.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan has said that Pakistan’s exports to the United States have marked year-on-year rise, with a total volume of $9 billion at an annual growth rate of 35 percent.

He said that the impressive growth of Pakistani exports to the United States is a trendsetter for the country’s other export destinations around the world.

Ambassador Masood Khan said that in the past few months, Pakistan and the United States have been engaged to promote trade and investment between the two countries as well as to enhance cooperation in the health, agriculture and tech sectors.

At the United Nations, Pakistan has fully supported the General Assembly’s adopted resolution declaring Central Asia a zone of peace, trust and cooperation.

In a statement, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Munir Akram said Pakistan fully supports this timely resolution and its objectives.

He said Pakistan is committed to building connectivity and cooperation in trade, investment, transport, energy and other sectors with its Central Asian neighbours.

The Pakistani envoy stressed the need of ensuring durable peace and security in Afghanistan for sustainable peace in the region.

He particularly called for sustained engagement with Afghan government by all its six immediate neighbours.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says the investigative report of the reliable international organization Financial Times is a serious indictment against PTI Chief Imran Khan, which has exposed the facts of foreign funding of PTI and remittance of illegal huge amounts.

In Tweets on social media platform Twitter, he said the concrete facts mentioned in the report are shouting loudly that Imran Khan is an epitome of lies, contradictions and hypocrisy.

The Prime Minister urged Imran Khan to file a defamation case against Financial Times for publishing the indicting article.

He said if Imran Khan does not file the defamation case, it will prove one more time how brazenly he is lying and cheating the people of Pakistan.

The Prime Minister said the charade of self-proclaimed honesty and righteousness has been busted by the Financial Times story that details the flow of foreign funding into PTI bank accounts.
