27% of Pakistanis oppose the rejection of Electoral papers of Pervez Musharraf by ECP, POLL

Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 27% of Pakistanis oppose the rejection of Electoral papers of Pervez Musharraf by Election Commission of Pakistan.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Former President Pervez Musharraf submitted papers from four constituencies to contest elections.

Recently, the Election Commission of Pakistan rejected papers from all four constituencies. Do you support or oppose this decision of ECP?” Responding to this, 27% oppose this decision of ECP whereas 64% support it. However, 9% did not give a view.

The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.

The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2641 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during April 15, 2013 – April 21, 2013. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
