52% Pakistanis believe people’s salary adequately reflects the difference in their abilities and efforts,Poll

Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 52% Pakistanis believe people’s salary adequately reflects the difference in their abilities and efforts.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women, from across the four provinces was asked “Please tell us, how much do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
The difference in people’s salary adequately reflects the difference in their abilities and efforts.” Responding to this, 28% said they completely agreed, 24% said they somewhat agreed and 24% replied they neither agreed nor disagreed. 16% of the respondents mentioned they somewhat disagreed whereas 5% said they completely disagreed. 3% did not respond.

Question: “Please tell us, how much do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The difference in people’s salary adequately reflects the difference in their abilities and efforts.”

The study was released by Gilani Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.

The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2619 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during Feb 10, 2014 – Feb 17, 2014. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
