6 prisoners freed from Malir jailJuly 7, 2013
Karachi: Six prisoners were freed from the Malir jail during the visit of the district and sessions judge.
Under the new judicial policy of the supreme court of Pakistan SCP, the DSJ Malir Muhammad Yameen, Judicial Magistrates Nadir Khan Burdi, Naveed Asghar Sheikh, Muhammad Ali Memon, Abdul Shakoor Kalhoro, Hassan Ali Kalwar, Zubair Bin Mehmood & General Secretary Saiban Haider Ali Haider visited District Jail Malir.
Superintendent Mirza Shuja Haider Baig, Deputy Superintendent Syed Shakir Hussain Shah, Assistant Superintendents Arshad Shah, Asif Sarfaraz, and other jail officials were present.
The DSJ went round various barracks, met the prisoners and acquired details of ongoing cases in various courts. He met the prisoners in barracks and listened to their problems and assured them of speedy justice.
On the occasion large number of prisoners presented applications for an early hearing of their cases while many submitted applications for review of the court decisions.
During his visit to various barracks 06 prisoners informed the judge that they had completed their sentence but are in jail because of inability to pay the fined amount.
The Chairman Saiban, Haq Nawaz Akhtar paid the amount of the fine and got them free he also paid their travelling expenses.
