NAUNDERO: A poisonous substance was thrown in a fish farm, killing all the fish and causing huge financial loss to the owner. Arz Muhammad Mirani told reporters that some days back, a notorious gangster Pathan Narejo demanded two lac rupees extortion which he rejected. The gangster threw a poisonous chemical into his fish farm in the wee hours of Thursday near village Moria Faqeer within the limits of Naundero police station.

Mirani said that he had informed the police but so far they had done nothing to nab the accused criminal. He further said that 700,000 fish was in the pond and each having worth of Rs 8. He said that he had become bankrupt due to this loss.

It may be mentioned here that bandit Narejo had become more active during last few months and had been writing chits to notables and landlords of the area for which complaints had been lodged in Ketty Mumtaz and Naundero police stations but he was still at large.

Narejo recently fired aerial shots at the residence of former PPP Naundero General Secretary Khalid Memon who also had refused to pay him extortion money. Memon complained to MNAs Faryal Talpur and Ayaz Soomro but the police kept mum. The citizens of Benazir Bhutto’s hometown had urged the higher police authorities to rescue them from bandits.
