QUETTA: Strict notice of complaints in election has been taken which are being probed. Those involved would be brought to the net of law.
These views were expressed by Acting Chief Election Commissioner Justice Tasadduq Hussain while addressing a Press conference here Wednesday.
Member Election Commission Justice (R) Fazlur Rehman and Provincial Election Commissioner Balochistan Syed Sultan Bayazeed were also present.
Acting CEC said by conducting general elections we have fulfilled our constitutional responsibility.
After threats to polling staff in Balochistan provincial government and Army was requested for assistance. Holding elections in the province was no less than a challenge. People by casting votes showed bravery. He said out of 849, result of 820 seats has been announced. There must not be delay in announcement of results but it was because these were challenged in the courts. After removing legal hitches results were announced.
Acting Chief Election Commissioner said democracy cannot flourish without rule of law. If people are aware democracy would develop.
He said tribunals constituted would decide complaints in election within 120 days. After consultations with judges, good judicial officers have been deployed. Positive suggestions and complaints from Media would always be welcomed so that ills are rectified in time.
