Afghanistan to participate in Pakistan’s domestic event

Karachi: Afghanistan hockey teams – junior and others will be able to participate in the domestic events of Pakistan after a MoU has been signed between Pakistan and Afghanistan Hockey Federations on Monday.

Pakistan Hockey Federation PHF has allowed its Afghanistan counterparts to send its U16, Whites and Colours teams to Pakistan for domestic events.

PHF has also offered 100 hockey sticks and 100 hockey balls to every year to assist the country to excel in the sport.

Moreover, PHF has also promised technical assistance in restructuring and reformation of game of hockey in the neighbouring country on modern scientific lines.

In spite of the downfall of hockey during the last decade in the country, Pakistan hockey team, known as the greenshirts, is still been the most successful team in the international arena on records. The assistance from Pakistan, it is expected Afghanistan would be able to excel in the game of hockey.
