Karachi: Unauthorized by Pakistan Olympic Association POA, the 32nd edition of National Games has been allotted Rs 80 million by Pakistan Sports Board PSB, the biggest amount allotted for the National Games ever, has made Sindh Olympic Association SOA secretary Ahmed Ali Rajput suspicious.

PSB has released Rs 80 million to Interim Committee, which it imposed on POA, for holding National Games in Islamabad from June 28.

“Such a big amount has never been released for National Games and I am sure it is done to mutually embezzle the amount by the so-called Interim Committee and PSB. It must be investigated why the illegal interim committee has been such a big amount,” Ahmed Ali said.

POA led by Arif Hasan, who International Olympic Council IOC considers the right person to be leading National Olympic Committee of Pakistan, has already organized 32nd edition of National Games in Lahore last year with a small budget of Rs 10.75 million.

Meanwhile, Ahmed Ali has asked all the associations and federations not to feature their squads in the Games, threatening them of possible ban by POA.

Ahmed Ali also said that the secretary of the illegal and parallel body of SOA, Mudassir Arain, who is also secretary of Pakistan Netball Federation PNF, has been banned from sports activities for 10 years by POA.
