AJKCDC approves 39 development projects

Muzaffarabad: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet Development Committee AJKCDC has approved 39 development projects of worth 17518.198 million rupees.

The project including hydel generation, public health, physical planning and housing transport industries and telecommunications. The approval was accorded here in Muzaffarabad on Monday in a meeting presided over by AJ&K Premier Chaudhry Abdul Majeed.

In education sector two projects amounting 590 million rupee have been allocated for the establishment of Cadet College at Muzaffarabad and construction of Multi-storey complex with Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Mirpur whereas 341.082 million have been given for a project in transportation sector with the objectives of providing interest free loan for 1500 vehicle and rickshaws for self-employment in collaboration with commercial banks.

For the establishment of POL Quality Control Labs Mobile Units and weight and measures lab at Mirpur, an amount of 138.466 million has been approved which will be executed by industries department.

For hydel generation in AJK two projects 1.0 MW Galetar Khud Gujran Hydro Power in District Kotli and 6.4 MW Chamfall, Hydro Power Project district in Hattian have been accorded approval with an allocation of Rs. 1313.108 million.

Physical Planning and Housing sector is provided with Rs. 611.403 million for the completion of 3 projects including the construction of women mini stadium at Islamgarh, water supply scheme Kharak, Mirpur and water supply scheme at Tehsil Headquarter Abbaspur.

In telecommunication sector, 25 km roads per constituency have been approved for upgradation. It also includes the constituencies from where opposition members were elected. Road infrastructure includes Upgradation of Kotli-Pallandri-Kullah road of 12 km in Kotli, construction, improvement and metalling of link roads 26 in Lachratt in district Muzaffarabad, improvement, metalling and black topping of road from Lakarmundi to Paintra in district bhimber, improvement and metalling of 15 km roads in Khawra with equal length in city Muzaffarabad, construction and reconditioning of Charohi Kala Dub, Barali Gala to Kaler Gala, Jatta to Barali Gala, Mai Toti Darbar to Rajdhani Sohana, Rajdhani to Pothi Gali, Doha to Bandi Bajran, Seekar Gali to Barmoch and Samloot to Karjahi in district Kotli, Link road Garhi Dopatta Pathiali in district Hattian and Chalpani to Kandar road in district Muzaffarabad. It also includes many others road of district Muzaffarabad.

AJ&K Premier while speaking on this occasion said that Azad Kashmir was the defence line of Pakistan and development in Azad Kashmir is compared with one in Indian Occupied Kashmir.

He directed authorities to work with missionary zeal to complete the approved projects within given time frame. He said that all development projects would be monitored and no delay or substandard material would be accepted at any cost. He hoped that AJ&K would be turned into developed state soon.
