Algeria and Turkish Republic envoys call on Speaker NANovember 7, 2013
Islamabad: Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker National Assembly has called for greater parliamentary, economic and cultural interaction as well as people-to-people contact with Japan, Algeria and Turkish Republic. He said this in his separate meetings with Ambassador of Japan Mr. Hiroshi Inomata, Ambassador of Algeria Dr. Ahmed Benflis and Ambassador of Turkish Republic S. Babur Girgin in Parliament House on Thursday.
In his meeting with the Japanese Ambassador, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that Japan and Pakistan does not only share the same continent but also the same values of democracy and human freedom.
He said that Pakistan values its relations with Japan and wants to further strengthen them. He said that Pakistani Parliament strongly desires to enhance parliamentary relations between parliaments of both the friendly countries. He also called for enhancing collaboration between business communities of both the countries for their mutual benefit.
The Speaker thanked the Ambassador for Japanese support to Pakistan in various social and economic sectors. He also asked Mr. Hiroshi Inomata to convey his invitation to his Japanese counterpart to visit Pakistan.
Reciprocating good gesture of Speaker, the Japanese Ambassador said that Japan also considers Pakistan its closest friend and economic partner. He assured Speaker that Japan had and would support Pakistan in future to deal with crisis confronting its progress and prosperity. He agreed for enhancing parliamentary ties between both the parliaments.
Talking to the Ambassador of Algeria, the Speaker remarked that both the nations are intertwined in bonds of religion, history and culture. Pakistan attaches immense importance to Algeria and wants to take the existing warm relations between the two countries to new heights through parliamentary and economic cooperation.
Ambassador of Algeria admired that Pakistan was the first country who recognize Algeria at the time of his independence. He agreed with Speaker and said that Algerian Parliament would be delighted to enhance its relations with Pakistani Parliament so that understanding and cooperation between both the countries could be further pursued.
While talking to the Ambassador of Turkish Republic S. Babur Girgin, the Speaker said that friendship between the two brotherly countries are time tested and have roots in history.
The Speaker said that Turkey has always been a friend in need and stood by Pakistan in difficult times. He stressed the need for enhanced interaction between the parliamentarians of both the countries. He called for greater interaction between business communities of both the countries to tap the immense economic potential especially in the trade and manufacturing sectors.
Ambassador S. Babur agreed with Speaker and said that Turkish Parliament would be delighted to enhance its relations with Pakistani Parliament so that understanding and cooperation between both the countries could be further pursued. He assured Speaker that he would take up the issue with the concerned quarters so that areas of bilateral cooperation could be explored.
