Ambassador of Japan inaugurates SchoolOctober 25, 2013
Islamabad: Mr. Hiroshi Inomata, Ambassador of Japan inaugurated a school in Village Piyara, Tehsil and District Sheikhupura on Friday that was built by a grant of US $ 122,656 provided from the Government of Japan to the CARE Foundation, an NGO actively working in the education sector.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Managing Trustee of the CARE Foundation, other members of the NGO and the children from the vicinity who are to attend the school.
The new school has been designed to accommodate approximately 360 children from elementary to high school levels at highly subsidized rates. By virtue of this project, it is expected that new opportunities will be opened for the rural youth, both boys and girls in the area, which would eventually contribute to multifaceted socio-economic development.
At the inauguration ceremony, Ambassador Inomata stressed the importance of basic education for the development of nations and highlighted the critical need for creating opportunities for the Pakistani youth.
He also expressed his hope that this project would improve the welfare of children in the area, and in addition would undoubtedly strengthen the existing friendly relations between the people of Japan and Pakistan.
