QUETTA: Angry Baloch brothers should join national mainstream by taking part in elections so that problems of the province could be resolved through parliamentary struggle.
Caretaker Government is serious in resolving problems of the province. It would ensure free, fair and transparent elections so that people elect their representatives in a peaceful atmosphere and send them to the parliament who could resolve their problems. Participation in election by Baloch and Pashtoon nationalist parties is good sign.
These views were expressed by Caretaker Federal minister for Information and Broadcasting Arif Nizami while speaking during his visit to PID, Radio Pakistan, Pakistan Television and APP bureau here Saturday.
He was accompanied y Federal Secretary Agha Nadeem, Principal information Officer Syed Imran Gardezi.
Arif Nizami said under prevalent situation holding election is a big challenge. Despite all difficulties and hurdles elections would be held on May 11 so that formation of an elected government was possible through democratic process.
He said security to life and property of people is responsibility of caretaker government. A coordinated security [plan has been prepared for ensuring law and order during elections so that people could elect their true representatives without any fear.
Information minister was of the view participation of election by Baloch, Pashtoon and religious parties is good sign. It would pave way for resolution of problems. He called upon the masses to fully support caretaker government for holding peaceful, free and fair elections. It would help elect true representatives who would raise voice in the parliament for resolving their problems and their redressal through legislation.
Arif Nizami said that importance of media during 21st Century cannot be denied. Radio broadcasts are listened all over the country particularly importance of FM is not possible.
Information Minister was told that more than 200 vacancies are lying vacant in PTV and Radio Pakistan while several employees of PTV has got their services transferred to other provinces. It has increased work burden on other employees.
Minister immediately called report of these employees.
A delegation of Anjuman Ittehad Akhbar Faroshan led by its President Mir Ahmed Baloch and Secretary General Haji Yusuf Baloch called on the minister. Minister assured them of resolving their problems particularly Ministry of Interior would be approached for their security.
Employees of PTV, Radio Pakistan, PID and APP apprised the minister for their problems and difficulties. He ordered Federal Secretary Information for resolving problems of immediate nature.
