Anti-bhatta cell to get GSM locators

Karachi: Sindh police have decided to provide GSM locators to anti-Bhatta cell established in SIU to further enhance its capacity, decided a highlevel meeting held at Central Police Office here with Inspector General Police Sindh Shahid Nadeem Baloch in chair.

It was decided to provide allout logistics and manpower support to the anti-Bhatta cell, including GSM locators to ensure early tracking and arrest of extortionists.

The meeting was told that during the ongoing year 237 complaints were received by the Cell. Of them 70 cases were detected and 57 alleged extortionists arrested and 98 SIMs, mobile phones recovered from them.

The IGP asked to take proper follow up of cases in the courts to ensure punishments to extortionists as per law. He said efficient and capable officers be posted in the Cell so at to ensure result oriented actions against the Bhatta mafia.
