KARACHI: All Pakistan Muslim League APML Central Information Secretary Aasia Ishaque said that preparations are in full swing to accord a historic welcome to their party chief Pervez Musharraf.

The people of Karachi will receive the APML chief in an unprecedented historic manner, Aasia said while talking to a delegation of the APML office-bearers and workers coming from Hyderabad at the APML Secretariat in the city.

She said that return of APML chief had instilled passion and warmth among the masses while on the other hand, the corrupt leaders had been stuck to a state of intimidation because of their inner fear that they would then face the strongest opposition of the oppressed people under the dynamic leadership of Musharraf.

She said that the corrupt leaders had started playing their dirty tricks through misleading propaganda about the APML chief but the masses had in past five years learnt the corrupt elite of the ruling junta was enemy to the poor and the country while it was Musharraf that had taken real innovative steps for the uplift of the masses and the country.

She said that the APML would take a lead in the upcoming general elections despite the fact that the party did not have any politician in its ranks that belonged to feudal junta and politics of dynasty. Musharraf was a pure and simple leader that never spoke ill to the people and the country but always called a spade a spade.

In reply to a question, she said that the APML had completed its home works with regard to preparations for the upcoming general elections and it was not unlikely to make necessary seat adjustments with the democratic forces from the same core of aim s and objectives.

Musharraf’s return would be a turning point in the politics of the country because the people wanted to bring about a change in the corrupt political system of the country and of course Musharraf had the potential to kindle the light of the change, she said.
