ATC allows Rangers to grill suspect

Karachi: Anti-Terrorism Court-IV (ATC-IV) on Thursday sent one alleged target killer Mohammad Yousif to prison for 90 days and allowed the rangers to interrogate him. The personnel of Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, along with their own counsel produced accused Yousif before the ATC-IV and stated that the suspect was detained during a targeted operation.

They contended that the suspect was required to be questioned for his alleged involvement in criminal activities. The accused was arrested from Chakiwara the area of Karachi on 25th December. The recent amendments in Anti-Terrorism Act 1997’ Section II EEEEE in November 2013 has authorized the paramilitary force to detain suspects till three months for interrogations.
