ATC reserves verdict in murder caseFebruary 11, 2014
KARACHI: An Anti Terrorism Court-I (ATC-I) on Tuesday reserved judgment till 25-2-2014 in case of killing of a citizen. Accused Shahzad Masih, personnel of the Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, had been charged with killing of one Ghulam Haider in Shah Faisal Colony on 4th June 2013.
According to the prosecution, the victim along with his cousin was travelling in a car which hit a motorcyclist in Shah Faisal Colony. They were about to park their car when the Rangers personnel opened fire from rear and as a result Haider received a bullet and died.
According to the rangers, the personnel did not have the objective of killing the victim, as he attempted to stop him by shooting at the tyre of his vehicle since he along with his cousin was fleeing after hitting a motorcyclist.
A case (FIR 148/13) was registered against the Rangers personnel under Sections 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code at the Shah Faisal Colony police station.
