Karachi: After a lapse of 11 years, international junior tennis action will finally be revived when Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) Pakistan 14 & Under Tennis Championships commences at S. Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex in Islamabad on Monday.

The ATF has allotted two back to back International 14 & under Asian ranking tennis Championships to Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF). Because of ITF embargo to hold international events in Pakistan, PTF has been holding various international events including Davis Cup and ITF Juniors 18 events abroad.

These two ATF championships will be a significant milestone for PTF as it could be hoped that successfully organizing the two events will open the doors for more international tennis events in all age categories.

The first leg is being organized by PTF and the second leg will be organized by Islamabad Tennis Association.

ITF White Badge Umpires, Arif Qureshi and Shehzad Akhter Alvi are the Referee’s for first and second legs respectively.

The qualifying rounds to finalize the list of wild cards will be held today (Monday) while main first round matches will be held on Tuesday.
