Bandits kill three, loot Rs2.5m

KHAIRPUR: A gang of bandits shot dead three people, including a cop, and looted Rs 2.5 million cash from them near Khairpur on Monday. The cashier of Sugar Mill Sohu Kanasira, Seengar Ali Wasan, a driver Saleem Chandio and a police security guard Shahzado

Lanjwani were going to the sugar mill in a car after drawing Rs2.5 million from a bank in Khairpur when they reached near Sohu Kansira village, some armed persons opened fire on them as a result, they suffered severe injuries and died the spot.

The bandits looted Rs 2.5 million cash and fled with booty to an unknown destination, creating panic in the area plagued by crimes.

On information, police rushed to the scene, took bodies in their custody and hand over them to their relatives after legal formalities.

Kotdiji police could not register the case till filing this news. However, SSP Khairpur Asif Aijaz Shaikh suspended four cops after the tragic incident. It may be noted that crime rate in Khairpur district has risen to alarming level as police has badly failed to control it.
