Peshawar: The provincial government in the Home & Tribal Affairs Department has observed that usually candidates contesting elections from tribal areas hold their elections meetings in settled areas.

The prevailing security situation and related threats does not allow such gatherings to be held in settled areas. The candidates from the FATA may arrange their elections meetings in their respective tribal agencies and Frontier Regions FRs and not in the settled areas.

In this connection, the law and order wing of the Home & Tribal Affairs Department has issued detailed instructions to the Divisional Commissioners, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, DIKhan and Malakand Divisions to ensure that no big gatherings are held in settled areas under their administrative control by the candidates belonging to FATA.

They have been further asked that all other candidates belonging to settled areas may also be strictly advised to avoid gathering of a large number of people at one place in order to avoid any untoward incident.

It is to once again mention here that Mohmand, Bajour, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, NorthWaziristan and South Waziristan Agencies as well as FR Peshawar, FR Kohat, FR Bannu, FR Lakki, FR Tank and FR D.I.Khan altogether form FATA.
