NAUNDERO: Two unknown armed men riding a motorcycle gunned down a 40yearold Mithal son of Niaz Kurio and injured 50yearold Khadim Kurio near Eidgah here on late Wednesday evening.

According to SHO Naundero police station, Sadoro Lashari, both the persons were sitting at a hotel when the incident took place. The injured Khadim was rushed to Chandka Medical College Hospital in Larkana, 20 kilometres from here, as there is no emergency treatment facility in the home town of slain PPP chairperson as the present PPP government has so far failed to fulfil the demand of the citizens for the same facility.

Police shifted the body to Naundero rural health centre for a postmortem. Muhammad Ilyas Kurio, brother of the deceased, told mediamen at RHC that the armed men of Khuhro community came on bike and opened fire in which his brother Mithal died on the spot and Khadim Kurio was injured.

Khadim is the owner of the same hotel. Police cordoned off the area but till filing of this report, no arrest was made nor was FIR lodged.

Further probe is going on. Ongoing Bhutto-Khuhro dispute has so far claimed six lives which started over ownership of katcha land.
