Call to stamp out more taxesJune 25, 2013
KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf PTI Senior Vice President Najeeb Haroon criticized the fiscal policies that were responsible to increase manufacturing cost of stationary after including 17% tax.
He termed this step of Nawaz-led government as an attempt against education. In a statement, he said, “The rulers who claim to increase the literacy rate of Pakistan are actually increasing the expenses of education. They are aiming to cover the nation with shadows of illiteracy.”
He said that the massive corruption, from the past, has to be disclosed in order to bring an upright system of justice and governance. He continued, “It is unjustified to raise taxes so as to cancel out the budget deficit resulted by former governments’ corruption.” Najeeb Haroon said that Pakistan needs efforts to lift up the system of education on emergency basis.
Moreover he concluded that the government should revise its policies of shifting the load to already taxpaying class and people striving to educate their kids.
