Islamabad: A religious leader on Tuesday lauded British Prime Minister David Cameron for his offer to assist Pakistan economic revival. Mr Cameron has offered to provide technical support to Pakistan to shore up its security response and pledged his government’s willingness to help it in the revival of our economy, said Prof. Ajaz Mehmood Qadri Chairman International Peace Council for Interfaith Harmony in a press statement on Tuesday.
He said that positive efforts of the UK’s leadership for a stable, prosperous, peaceful, and democratic Pakistan are acknowledged by Pakistanis. He welcomed the promise of the British PM to revise upward the bilateral trade target from £2.5bn to £3bn by 2015 and support Pakistan’s quest for greater, duty free market access for its goods to the European Union.
The second annual Pakistan UK trade conference is to be held later in London where among the energy sector will get the much needed emphasis, he said.
