Dakar (OIC-UNA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), in partnership with King Abdullah International Center for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID) and the International Network of Religious Peacekeepers (NETW) adopted an action plan that sets out the main steps to be taken in order to achieve the implementation of the different peace and reconciliation agreements in the Central African Republic (CAR).
The three-day activities of the Round Table of inter-religious talks over the conflict in the Central African Republic, which kicked off on here on Saturday, have enabled the participating CAR religious leaders and traditional notables to discuss a wide range of issues that impede the implementation of various peace and reconciliation and human rights agreements in the country.
The OIC, which was represented by Ambassador Yahiya Lawal who spoke on behalf of the OIC Secretary General Dr. Youssef Al Othaimeen, renewed the OIC’s unwavering support for dialogue among all stakeholders in the conflict in CAR, the successful completion of the implementation of the peace agreements and the realization of the conclusions of this roundtable, in particular the action plan for the promotion of peace and national reconciliation in the Central African Republic.
