Christians protest against Peshawar terrorism

QUETTA: Christian community strongly protested attack on church in Peshawar here Monday and held processions and rallies and blocked roads by burning tyres.

A big demonstration was held in front of Quetta Press Club under aegis of Maseeh Ittehad.

Speakers including Gulistan and others said Christians are peaceful and patriotic community. It has always sacrificed at the time of creation of Pakistan and for stability of country. They said Christians are not cowardice. They are not afraid of such terrorist acts and would face them.

They said terrorism at Church in Peshawar on Sunday is condemnable and a proof of government’s failure. We demand elements involved in it should be arrested.

They said Christians are ready for every sacrifice for Pakistan but state that under prevalent situation Church is insecure. Government of Pakistan should deploy FC along with Police for the security of churches in all the four provinces to face terrorists acts.

They announce three day mourning. If no headway was made by the government we would evolve future course of action.

Protestors blocked rods by burning tyres and created disturbances at some places.
