KARACHI: MQM Rabita Committee members have praised Chief Justice Iftikhar of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Muhammad Chaudhry for his boldness over the way he conducted the hearing of the missing persons case and his bold judgment.

They appealed to him to hear MQM workers missing case immediately and to order measures for the recovery of workers. They said the forced disappearances of 28 MQM workers occurred during 19 June 1992 state operation against MQM. They deplored that the despite passage of years, they had not been able to trace them.

They said MQM’s 34 workers had disappeared during the target operation since August 2013 in Karachi. They added that some workers were missing since March 2013. These workers had been arrested by law enforcement agencies and had not been produced in any court.

They said these agencies were not willing to tell them why they had been arrested. They said: “We had remitted the cases to the court, but we have not received justice yet.”
