CM directs administrative secretaries of nation building departments to formulate a comprehensive and effective strategyJune 4, 2013
Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has directed the administrative secretaries of nation building departments to formulate a comprehensive and effective strategy to put an end to corruption and commission culture in their respective departments, and ensure quality of work within ten days adding that there will be zero tolerance for corruption and no compromise on the quality of work in his government.
He issued these directives while chairing a meeting of the administrative secretaries of Communication and Works, Irrigation, Public Health Engineering and local government departments at his office on Tuesday.
The meeting was also attended by chief secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr Attaullah Khan and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Ashfaq Ahmad.
Addressing the meeting the chief minister issued directives to the concerned authorities to formulate such an strategy which could close all the doors of giving and taking commission in construction works and other developmental projects.
The elected political set up of the province will discharge its responsibilities to end the commission culture and the bureaucratic set up should also discharge its responsibilities in this regard; stressed the chief minister, adding that the concerned authorities should fully exercise their powers to clear the system off corruption and commission culture.
He said that no political interference would be tolerated in the process of reforming the existing system.
There would be no room for those officials involved in taking commission and everyone from top to bottom would need to set himself or herself straight; maintained the chief minister participants of the meeting assured the chief minister that they would formulate strategies to put an end to corruption and commission in their respective departments in the light of
policy guidelines of the present government within the shortest possible time period. Meanwhile the chief minister chaired another meeting of Finance and P&D Departments in his office.
