CM says local bodies election could be held within week

GARHI KHUDA BUX: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that we can hold local bodies election within a week but we also want that our opponents could fully prepare to contest the same.

He said that they also want the people to cast their votes freely and the elections should be free & fair. The chief minister was talking to journalists here on Sunday after inspecting arrangements so far made by the district administration for the celebration of 6th death anniversary of slain PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto.

Strict security arrangements were made on the occasion before the arrival of Sindh CM. The Bhutto mausoleum was sealed. CM further said that election commission had announced the schedule for LB polls in January 18 in Sindh but three provinces KPK, Punjab and Sindh wanted these elections on a single date in March.

He further said that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had entered into politics and a seat was his right. “Bilawal will contest when the party decides.” The chief minister further said that the conditions of Karachi were bad since last 25 years and it would take time to improve law & order situation there.

He said that target killing had declined in Karachi while various political parties have been consulted about the city situation. He announced that the sixth anniversary of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto would be observed with dignity and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Asif Ali Zardari would address the gathering of party workers.

Shah laid floral wreaths and offered Dua at the graves of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto, Murtaza Bhutto and Shahnawaz Bhutto. Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani, MPA Khursheed Junejo, MNA Ayaz Soomro and other PPP workers were also present on the occasion.
