CM’s special assistant meets IGP

KARACHI: Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh for Home, Sharfuddin Memon, on Wednesday visited Central Police Office and met IGP Sindh, Shahid Nadeem Baloch and other senior police officers.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the foremost responsibility of the caretaker government is holding free and fair elections in a transparent manner. He stressed the need for adopting solid steps to implement the Election Commission’s code of conduct for the general elections.

Adequate security under the defined parameter should be ensured to candidates contesting elections, he emphasized.

Memon said that caretaker government is making all out efforts to entrust proper coordination among police, other law enforcement agencies and relevant departments to create a conducive environment for holding general elections in a peaceful and impartial manner.

He further said that the caretaker government had chalked out a comprehensive security plan where the police personnel would be backed by an auxiliary force, including civil defence volunteers, forest guards, anticorruption police, excise police and Police Qaumi Razakar.
