Comoros president receives UAE foreign minister in Moroni

Comoros President Azali Assoumani received UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is currently on an official visit to the archipelago island nation.

During the meeting, held in the attendance of Comorian Foreign Minister Mohamed El Amine Souef and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Hamid Kerhela, the two sides discussed ways of enhancing bilateral relations in various fields, especially in trade, economy, education, fisheries, development and energy. They also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Sheikh Abdullah lauded the existing fraternal relations between the two countries and the efforts being made to develop them in all spheres of life. He also expressed the desire of the United Arab Emirates to expand those relations to wider horizons.

In turn, President Assoumani welcomed the visit of the UAE foreign minister, stressing its importance in opening wider avenues of joint cooperation between the two countries in many sectors. He also expressed his gratitude for the UAE’s support of his country, particularly in various economic and social development projects.

The meeting was also attended by Director General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi and Director of the Arab Affairs Department at the UAE Foreign Ministry Abdullah Matar Al Mazrouei
