Concern on water shortage in industrial areas

Karachi: There is acute shortage of water in industrial Zones which is creating difficulties in carrying out industrial production and resulting in delays in fulfilling export orders specially, in textile and leather processing industries, located in Korangi, Landhi, F.B. Area, SITE and SITE Superhighway.

This was said Gulzar Firoz, Vice President, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry FPCCI in a statement here Monday. He said that the only solution and immediate step is setting up of Reverse Osmosis RO plants in all industrial areas.

Gulzar Firoz further informed that 5 plants have already been approved for Korangi Industrial Area and feasibility is completed and formal approval is in pending with the Chief Minister of Sindh.

He appealed to the Chief Minister to immediately approve this project. Meanwhile KW&SB should also prepare similar PC1 for other industrial areas of the city, he urged.
