Conference on Trends in Modern Banking

Karachi: Professional bankers, financial experts and educationists relating to banking and financial sector addressed the International Conference on “Trends in Modern Banking” on Saturday, organized by Greenwich University, Karachi.

During the two sessions of the Conference sixteen speakers, including four speakers on Skype from USA, Canada and Germany read their research papers and give presentations on Trends in Modern Banking.

EBanking, Corporate and Commercial Banking, Treasury, risk management, retail banking and rapid rise in branchless banking are some of the areas which were discussed during the daylong Conference.

The speakers noted that there is a rise in micro finance banking in the country which will help the middle class in the raising of their living standards. They said that there is a rise in the online banking in the urban areas of the country. They said that with the adaption of innovative technology banking sector is flourishing and there are tremendous growth opportunities in the banking sector.

With the recent trends of consolidating the banks financial by virtue of acquisition and mergers the banking sector share is playing a pivotal role in the country’s economy.

The chief guest of the conference was Siraj uddin Aziz, CEO, Habib Metro Bank Ltd.
