CS urges depts to work within their domain

Karachi: Chief Secretary Sindh Mohammad Ijaz Chaudhry has stressed on heads of Home, Law and Environment to work within their domain so that ‘no interference from any other department could take place’.

Chairing a meeting in his office on Thursday, Chaudhry appreciated the services of departments and asked their chiefs to ensure qualitative performance.

Earlier, Additional Chief Secretary briefed that 18 ongoing and 14 new projects worth Rs. 494,700 million were in progress, out of which 19 belong to Prison Department and 13 to Sindh Police.

He told the meeting that Computerized Arms License Management System CALMS was initiated and Home Department and Deputy Commissioners were working on it, along with NADRA, in eight districts of Karachi South, Karachi West, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, Khairpur and Thatta.

Briefing the meeting, Secretary Law said that that the rate of conviction had enhanced, since the activation of Prosecution Department. Secretary Environment Alternative Energy also briefed about his department.
