RATODERO: Sindh Doctors Coordination Committee (SDCC) has criticized non-award of timescale promotions to hundreds of doctors serving in Sindh health department in Basic Pay Scale-17 since last 20 years.

In an emergency meeting held in Larkana under the chairmanship of Senior Vice President, Dr Abdul Qayoom Rajpar, SDCC moot condemned the ruthless attitude of the health department. While talking to PPI Dr Rajpar said that despite orders of the Sindh High Court, Sukkur Bench, for granting timescale promotions to the serving doctors, the health department was constantly ignoring them without any justification.

He said that they were being denied their basic right which was violation of the Constitution and service rules. He said that during next 2/3 years many doctors would retire before getting their due promotions of BS-18 and above which was really hurting the medical practitioners and due to this attitude, many students had opted for other professions.

Dr Rajpar warned the Sindh government to order immediate timescale promotions to all the deserving doctors or else they shall be forced to close down all the hospitals in the Sindh province for getting their just rights. He also urged the elected representative to help them and simultaneously demanded of the apex court to order implementation of its decisions at the earliest to meet the ends of justice.
