Delay in water supply to Sindh canals deplored

RATODERO: Larkana Chamber of Commerce & Industry LCCI has termed delay in the supply of irrigation water as unjust, which had caused inordinate delay in sowing paddy crop, which would ultimately affect the paddy crop and the economy of the country.

In a meeting at LCCI Larkana, with Hafiz Suleman Shaikh in the chair, they further said that due to this crop only country earns billions of dollars in foreign exchange. They said so far water has not yet been released in the canals of Sindh province. They further said that worst affected will be the tail Enders who will be completely ruined.

They further said that country’s economy greatly depends on this crop, so the rulers should realize its importance. They demanded of the government to arrange immediate release of perennial water into the canals of Sindh to save economy of the country and the rural populace, otherwise, they feared poverty ratio would continue to rise.

Anwar Shaikh, Bashir Ahmed, Muhammad Ali and others also participated in the meeting.
