Dialogue committees meet PM‚ discuss peace processMarch 6, 2014
Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif at a meeting with the dialogue committees of government and Taliban in Islamabad have reviewed future strategy to carry forward the peace talks.
He appreciated the contribution of both the committees for the sake of bringing peace.
The Prime Minister said the government prefers the dialogue option for lasting peace. Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan also attended the meeting.
Member of Taliban Dialogue Committee Maulana Samiul Haq later talking to newsmen said both the sides should enhance mutual cooperation to unearth the elements who were bent upon sabotaging the dialogue process through violence.
He termed the meeting with Prime Minister as positive and hoped that the dialogue process would bear tangible results soon.
He said they will go to Waziristan to have further consultations with the Taliban leadership to carry forward the peace talks.
In his remarks during the meeting member of Taliban Dialogue Committee Maulana Samiul Haq assured the Prime Minister of his full support to bring peace to the country.
He agreed that a new strategy is required to streamline the decision making in the next phase of dialogue.
